Massage

Offering therapeutic, relaxation and specialty massage by appointment

Massage is a healing art & science. Science provides the techniques to use and an understanding of the potential benefits of massage. Art individualizes the process by which technique is used during a massage.

All massage is not created equal. If you have received a massage that is just ok, it is highly probable that the therapist applied technique without regard to the intuitive nature demanded of this healing art.

Because our lives are in a perpetual state of transition, a massage should be adjusted from one visit to the next. This theory is true of yoga as well. One's practice is one's own; individual in execution, collective in time-honored techniques.

Stress-related disorders make up between 80% to 90% of the ailments that bring people to family-practice physicians. Taking a respite from the fast pace often seems impossible. The benefits of receiving massage therapy include such a respite. Other benefits of massage therapy include stress relief, injury rehabilitation, recovery, and personal growth. Take the time to take care, good care, of yourself on all levels of your existence.

Jann Sullivan, LMT

Jann is joined the ClearSpring community in 2008 after ten years of practicing at Tamarisk--a Center for Growth and Change. Jann feels that ClearSpring is a wonderful fit for her work because it is a community of teachers and students seeking to find balance in body, mind and spiritthe foundation of her work.

Jann's formal study began in 1992 with Dub Leigh who taught a synthesis of Feldenkrais, Rolfing and Zen Meditation. In 1998, Jann began her practice at Tamarisk, founded by psychotherapists Barbara and Jim McNew for the healing of the body, mind and spirit.

Janns practice was primarily deep tissue work until 2005 when she began studying Ortho-Bionomy with Scot OShea. Ortho-Bionomy has completely transformed the way Jann practices. Ortho-Bionomy practitioners intent is to bring balance to the body without causing pain. Thus, the clients are able to achieve a deep state of relaxationthe place where Jann has seen real changes in the body and, in turn, changes in the mind and spirit.

Jann continues to study Ortho-Bionomy, mentoring with Scot OShea and working towards becoming a Registered Practitioner. She is an Associate Member of the Ortho-Bionomy Society (www.ortho-bionomy.com), and is delighted to bring her work to the ClearSpring community.
